From November 14 to November 16, 2011, the 11^th Seminar of the Joint Session of the National Newly Approved Universities opened in our university. The opening ceremony was presided over by Party Secretary Hu Jiancheng of our university. Vice Director Wang Xiaocun of the Department of Education of Zhejiang Province, Mayor Lu Jun of Jiaxing Municipality, Party Secretary Ding Fengyun of Linyi University of Shandong as well as Chairman of the Conference Presidium, and President Xu Xianmin of Jiaxing University addressed the conference respectively. During the conference, Vice Director Liu Guiqin of Education Department of Ministry of Education, Prof. He Shubing, Director of Teaching Development Center of the Hong Kong Polytechnic University, and President Xu Xianmin delivered theme reports at the conference.

About 400 Party secretaries and presidents from more than 120 newly approved universities in 28 provinces, cities and autonomous regions nationwide took part in the seminar. Our university leaders Lu Yanqin, Huang Jianping, Du Huanzheng, Yan Congquan, Fei Jianwen, Zhou Yaxing, Qian Fangming, Hu Junyun, deans of our colleges, heads of the administrative departments, and teacher representatives attended the relative activities of the seminar.
