On the morning of Sep. 5th, 2008, a big opening ceremony for 2008 freshmen was held on the track and field ground, Yuexiu Campus. On the stage were seated top leaders Hu Jianchen, Xu Xianmin, Tang Riu-e, Xia Yueping, Huang Jianping, Du Huazheng, Fen Hao, Xu Guibao, Zhu Hua, Lu Yanqing as well as deans from colleges.
